Cray Education Center Private Academic School

Licensed Private Academic Schools are licensed and regulated by the State Board of Private Academic schools

  • Focus on emotional support students
  • Behavior Specialist and Master’s Level Therapist, classroom aides
  • Daily social skills class/group
  • Special education grades 4-12
  • Elementary grades 4-8
  • 5 classses:
    • 2 elementary classes class size 1-5
    • 1 junior high class size 1-10
    • 2 high school classes class size 1-10
  • Structured intervention education program
  • Curriculum caters to individual needs of each student
  • Small class setting
  • Possible credit recovery
  • Individualized counseling

AEDY: Alternative Education For Disruptive Youth

Temporary placement that is a result of discipline with the goal of returning students to regular education environment

  • Formal Periodic Review (FPR) team set up to support the student in the process
  • Follows PDE regulations
  • Based on 45+ day stay
  • Behavior goals set for each student within five days
  • Six reasons for referral to AEDY (not grades or truancy)
  • Transition plan created for each student
  • Grades 7-12
  • Small class setting
  • Individualized counseling
  • Behavioral Goals Assessments (Conners 3)
  • Credit recovery program
  • Guidance Counselor/Behavior Specialist
  • Daily social skills class/groups
