Cray’s 1-to-1 Mentoring Program is proud to present our 30th Annual Bowl-A-Thon –Memory Lane
Did you know that over the past 30 years, our mentoring programs at Cray have matched nearly 800 Lawrence County kids and teens with a mentor? Join us to take a “Roll Down Memory Lane” at our 30th annual Bowl-a-Thon!
The event takes place at SIMS LANES (7245 Big Beaver Blvd, Beaver Falls PA 15010) ON SATURDAY, MAY 4th from 4:00-6:00 PM.
The relationships that have developed throughout these years have changed so many lives for the better. The children we serve, their families, and the mentors all benefit from the friendships that are formed. We don’t charge fees for our services, and our mentoring programs are financially supported through grants, donations, and special events like Bowl-a-thon.
Each year, Bowl-a-thon has raised between 15 and 25% of our annual revenue for mentoring programs at Cray.
There are several ways to support Bowl-a-thon. Businesses, organizations, churches, clubs, and/ or individuals can sponsor the event. In-kind items can be donated by local restaurants or businesses for the popular auction that is held the day of Bowl-a-thon or refreshments for the bowlers. The most fun way to participate is to create a bowling team with 4-6 people and come bowl with us!
To participate, each team member commits to raising a minimum goal of $50.00 to benefit our program. Junior Bowlers, ages 6-14, can participate with an adult for a $20.00 donation. Each team member will receive a free game of bowling, lunch, entertainment, and this year’s Bowl-A-Thon t-shirt!
Every year, this event reminds us why we are so fortunate to be serving children and families in Lawrence County. We hope you can join us!

- Become a mentor! For more info on how to do that, see the mentoring section of this newsletter.
- Tell families who may benefit from our services about us.
- If you know someone that would make a great mentor, tell them WHY you think they would be great at it and let them know about Cray.
- If you belong to any social or service group that invites speakers from community organizations, invite us! We are happy to come to speak about our programs.
- Donate! Whether it’s financial to go towards programming, or in-kind like school supplies, we can use it!
- Like us on Facebook and share our updates with friends.
- Host an activity for our matches- we love going to farms, touring local businesses, and sometimes even doing service projects!
- Participate in Bowl-a-Thon through creating a team or event sponsorship!
